Another type of image guidance for breast biopsy is stereotactic guidance - the use of a computer and x-ray images to accurately localize the suspicious area so a needle can be precisely placed. Stereotactic breast biopsy is often used to evaluate calcium deposits in suspicious areas of the breast.
